A teaser ‘block your date’ invite from Microsoft has landed in our inbox telling us to block our dates on October 12. The invite says “Imagine if everything important to you was right there – friends, family and work.” The artwork is unmistakably inspired by Microsoft’s Metro UI, complete with the arrow mark. So could it mean Microsoft is finally ready to launch Windows Phone 7.5 in India? Mind you, it had never officially launched Windows Phone 7 as many features including the Marketplace was not available here. We are quite confident that the launch will happen as Samsung has already ‘launched’ the Omnia W (though it will be available in stores in November), just to get dibs on ‘India’s first Windows Phone 7.5 smartphone’ tag. We will be reporting live from the press conference, so stay tuned.
